Press Release of TC Leaders Meeting in Tashkent, 18th-20th May 2026

On 18 May 2026, the GHWP TC Leaders Meeting formally opened in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, with an open session held at Tashkent Pharma Park in the morning for all participants. GHWP leadership, TC leadership, Working Group Chairs and Co-chairs, TC Advisors, regulatory authorities and industry representatives from multiple GHWP member countries and regions attended the meeting. Participants engaged in in-depth exchanges on key topics related to regulatory harmonization and collaboration, with a dedicated focus on the UDI guidance and regulations, application, and implementation. The open session fostered closer engagement, mutual understanding, and strengthened cooperation among participants.

TC Closed-door sessions were subsequently held from 18 to 20 May, gathering GHWP leadership, TC leadership, and Working Group Chairs and Co-chairs. This session centered on TC Key Tasks, NWIP & Guidance Development, Training Programs, and Guidance Adoption. In addition, targeted discussions were held on TC Annual Meeting Reform, Export Regulatory Requirements Harmonization, Emergency Supply Mechanisms for Medical Devices, AI regulatory platform, and Regulatory Reliance. Moderated by the TC Chair and Co-Chairs, the closed-door sessions aimed to build consensus and define key priorities for the next phase, providing strategic direction to further advance regulatory harmonization and capacity building within GHWP.
